Mixing & Mastering

Just because you have a song that’s recorded doesn’t mean it’s ready to be distributed to the public! You’ll want to have somebody go through it with a fine tooth comb and make sure every element is working together to produce the best possible version of your music. That’s where I come in. 

Mixing is simply the process of taking recorded tracks and making them sound as good as possible together. Mastering, on the other hand, is the process of taking a song that is already mixed and adding finishing touches to it. A mastering engineer is most concerned with making sure a song is competitive and ready to be uploaded to streaming services.

Understand the separation between the two like this: During mixing, an engineer is making changes to individual tracks such as guitars, bass, etc., but during mastering an engineer cannot change individual elements of a song and is making changes that affect the mix as a whole.
